I enjoyed being part of a placement project in March this year with HND Sound Production students from Ayrshire College. I'd like to thank Colin Train who asked me to assemble a band and track some songs to allow the students to gain experience in recording techniques by shadowing the in-house engineer. They would then be able to mix the tracks at a later date to improve their skills.
I was fortunate to get some good friends in the studio to play with me; Jay Hepburn on drums, Gary Henderson on organ, Brian Branford on bass and Colin Train on rhodes piano. We tracked everything live with only vocal overdubs. I've since did some additional tracking at home with horns and backing vocals so I'll upload these to my soundcloud page once they're finished.
I wish all the students the very best with their studies and hope they have a bright future.
